I woke up sick in the middle of the night and was miserable for a few hours, coughing and sneezing and having a bit of digestive upset (not vomiting, thank goodness!). I spent today feeling pretty lousy (sore throat, headache, muscle aches) which was depressing because I had plans to get outside and work in the yard and then take a nice long walk. Instead I laid on the couch watching Animal Planet just waiting for it to be time to pick up my daughter from school. What a yucky day! I did manage to throw some chicken thighs in the oven to roast and then make some nourishing homemade chicken soup for our dinner tonight. I scooped mine out before adding the noodles for the rest of the family. It was really good, and with some Tylenol I feel slightly better.

Today I had:

plain tea, a soft boiled egg, avocado, a Clementine
half a banana
lots of water with lemon slices in it
key lime yogurt
2 roasted chicken thighs (with the skin)
sugar free pudding cup
a grande iced green tea lemonade, no syrup, from Starbucks while I waited for my daughter at dance school
large bowl of chicken soup with onion, celery, carrots, and garlic in the broth. Extra chicken!

I am super tired and will probably go to bed early tonight. I didn't get in much movement, but I can tell I need rest more than anything right now. Hopefully this sickness won't last long.

The important thing is to rest and hydrate. Don't feel guilty, just get better.

BTW, green tea lemonade is my favorite drink from starbucks.

Thanks Lori, it's always hard to NOT be up doing things I usually do (Mom guilt!) but you're right about the rest. I am feeling a little better today.

Most of the carbs came from fruit. Mainly I am cutting back on grain based carbs and processed sugar.

Feeling worse today. Headache, chills, cough. Ugh, I do not need to be sick!!

Hope you're getting better. The only thing positive about being sick is that you usually lose weight! Unfortunately, it usually comes right back...... :(

yeah, I have not lost any weight being sick. I am eating plenty of fruit and soup. I had a fruit smoothie this morning. All I crave is citrus fruits and chicken soup. I think I am slightly better this morning.

Hi Lyn,

Hoping you feel much better. It is going around where I am from, and it is no fun to be sick at all. Drink your orange juice and just relax. When I am sick, the last thing I think of is losing weight, but when I am sick I usually want fruits and chicken noodle soup.

You've been eating more than fruit and chicken soup if you're not losing weight. I was sick last week also and lost almost 5 pounds- from 128-123.
