50 Pounds Gone Again... Update Pictures

The last time I posted progress pictures was 14 months ago, and they were entitled "Picture of a Regain: 68 Pounds Regained." They were by far the hardest pictures for me to post; I was back up to 243 pounds. At that time I promised to start taking new pictures again when I reached 228 pounds. Yes, it took me over a year to get there, but here I am! Finally, 50 pounds gone again!

I think it is interesting to compare these to my other "50 Pounds Gone" pictures taken back in 2008.

Not too much difference that I can see. Hopefully this will be that LAST time I have to post pictures at this weight. I never want to be this size again. My main goal is simple: drop ten pounds and if it's easier to just hang out at 218 for awhile, I am good with that. Slow and steady and permanent.

Feeling good and staying relaxed about the food! Hope you are happy and content as well.

Awesome! I've just lost that fifty that I lost and gained and lost and gained. I'm hoping this is the last time I see this weight, too.

You look GREAT!!!

Rosie~

Thanks!

Nan~

glad to have you here! I hope you're doing well too :)

lol, thanks! I am lucky that once I get under about 230 my body usually assumes its regular shape (loses the major rolls) and then just shrinks in the same shape from here! Which reminds me, I need to take measurements.

Thanks!

You look fabulous!!! I think you look smaller in your new 50 lbs. gone pics than you did in your last 50 lbs. gone pics. Great job, Lyn!!!

Thanks Alison! Actually I think I am wearing a smaller jeans size this time around too, but that could be just a brand variation thing. I am curious what the measurements will say.

You are so right about the slow, steady & permanent.

I think you look more toned in the newest pictures.

I am so proud of you for hanging in there and doing the hard work to get where you are now.

Congrats on getting the 50 back off. Wish I'd taken pics of my weight loss efforts, or at least measurements. My motivation came from my cardiologist. My last visit came almost two years to the day after my husband's death. Right after he died, the doc doubled my blood pressure med just to get me past my deep grieving period. He told me to keep an eye on my BP because at some point I wouldn't need all that additional drug level. Never happened, because I grew into needing it. When I showed up for the last appointment, he said I had gained 42 pounds in two years and it had to stop. It's been 4 months and I've lost 38 pounds and cut the meds back to the pre-widowhood level. Now I'm going for my wedding weight from 25 years ago, so I have to lose 14 more. But 52 pales in comparison to that 100!

I just found your blog because I was looking for inspiration to lose weight. I looked at my thunder thighs in the mirror and I cried for two hours. I dont know how I let this happen. Will be following. Thanks for the inspiration.

I'm impressed with your ability to do it all over again. I love your approach - slow & steady. Forming important habits that trim our bodies takes time and repetitions. Good re-job, and I'm inspired by your re-dedication.
