I am feeling SO sluggish lately. I cannot seem to gather the energy to do *anything.* I mean, I do what I have to... walk my daughter to school, take her to dance, volunteer, all the usual things. But nothing extra is getting done and a lot of chores, like yard work, are getting put off. This isn't a new problem for me; I've had energy issues on and off for years. But I had pretty good energy over the summer and I just felt *well*. And now I just want to sleep (but don't... not in the daytime). I wonder if the change in diet has anything to do with it. Maybe it is the weather change. I always feel like hibernating when it cools off, and want to eat starchy things.

The bike will arrive tomorrow and I will be riding every day, whether I feel like it or not. I recently got cable TV, too, which we haven't had before. I had a box put in my workout room because I find it a lot easier to keep on pedaling if I am engrossed in some interesting show. I don't watch TV much, so reserving it for workouts is a nice little incentive.

I find myself drinking a lot more caffeine lately just to try and get things done. I am back up to about 3 cups of caffeinated coffee per day and sometimes a diet Coke, too. I have to admit I feel worse, not better, after adding the diet sodas back in, so I decided they are not worth the crutch value and won't be buying anymore. I also don't think the coffee is helping and probably ought to cut that back to one cup a day again. But I just don't know what to do for energy. The way I feel it is amazing anything is getting done. Time to increase the vitamin D and the B vitamins, I guess.

I didn't realize how much the B-vitamins helped until I stopped taking them for a week--I take a "hi-stress B&C".

Sooo, where are you in your monthly cycle? I only ask because it seems to me that even during the summer, you had bouts of high energy/low energy/munchies.

Your blog is a good log for you. As you look back over it for weight loss tips, perhaps you could note mood/energy swings. A simple happy face/sad face on calendar squares would do the trick as youi read along thru your blog.

Just a thought...may not be germane.

yeah, I think I am mid cycle. I do tend to have weight stalls and emotional blahs at mid cycle and during PMS. That could be part of it.

You might want to check out adrenal fatigue syndrome ( you can google it and check out the other symptoms). Most traditional doctors don't understand/ believe in AFS, so you would need to go to an integrative doctor if you wanted to be tested. Good luck! Cin
