Earlier today, I was wishing the scale would whiz downward like it used to. I remember it that way, anyway. I was thinking "two pounds a week is sooo slow." But you know what, really, the scale never *did* 'whiz downward.' It only seemed that way. Back in my early blogging days, I went from 278 pounds to 214 pounds, losing 64 pounds mostly by counting calories and exercising. I averaged almost five and a half pounds a month. Then when I lost a similar amount of weight on Medifast (-59 pounds) I averaged almost seven and a half pounds a month. It *seemed* fast but it was quite a reasonable rate of loss both times... averaging between 1 and 2 pounds a week. So I guess I am right on track again if I keep up this pace.

The pain in my feet is at about 25% of usual today. I went to PT this morning and it was very painful.

Dinner tonight will be a leftover piece of spaghetti squash lasagna.

That's all for now.

You're more of the tortoise than the hare, and so am I. That's okay! So long as they weight stays gone, I really don't care how long it takes to depart. I've been on this journey consistently since Oct 2008 and I'm not done yet, but I'm infinitely better for my patience and experiences learned through the process than if I'd tried and quit due to slow progress.

Just focus on your goals and maintenance plan, let the scale take care of itself :)

Yes!! Like exercise, it's the consistency that's important... an average of 1-2 lbs a week will add up before you know it! ~babs

I'm glad that the PT is working for you, being in less pain will definitely give you something to smile about. Don't give up on your weight loss, slow and steady is fine too, even though impatience may rear it's ugly head from time to time. Keep up the great work and you will be healthier and happier for it!

Yeah, I mean you have to be realistic. You aren't exercising at all (due to the PF) and that is gonna slow down the weight loss A LOT and make it even harder, it's just reality. Just make sure you are SUPER diligent and 100% with the eating, because you aren't getting much activity.

It's hard to lose weight, period, and the only times I've really seen people lose insane amounts at a time is either when:
a) they are quite obese/overweight to begin with...so they naturally lose very fast
b) they are mega working out and taking in very little calories...which is hard to keep up in the long run and they tend to regain (think stuff like The Biggest Loser and etc)
c) They were eating REALLY terribly before and lose a ton of water weight all at once (eating very salty, carb-heavy, processed things before switching to a healthier diet)

That's just how I tend to see it...1-2 pounds a week is the best way, in my opinion, just stay committed.

I'm sure it's a little frustrating, given that you lost 25 pounds the first month you did Medifast the last time, but hopefully the slower you lose it, the easier it will be to stay off! I think you were also eating much better (i.e. low carb etc) before you started this time vs. before you started the last time, so I'm sure that played a role too.

Good luck!!

I lost 15 pounds the first month I did Medifast, not 25. But yes, I expect to lose less this month for sure, since I was already low carbing.
