Happy Thanksgiving :)

What a nice day. I woke up feeling a little better... more like I just have a cold, with very little face pain. As the day went on I felt better and better. Of course after dinner I was exhausted, but other than that, I am about 80% better than I was two days ago. Thank goodness!

We had a nice, sunny day today and I went outside on the deck to enjoy it for awhile. I watched the dogs play and then I brushed them and swept the deck, just savoring the nice weather. I still rested a lot today, but I managed to roast a small turkey and make mashed potatoes, gravy, apple salad, and green beans. The kids made homemade butter as usual, and we also served dinner rolls and pumpkin and apple pies. The kids had sparkling apple cider and I had ice water with a bit of lemon. My plate was full of two things: dark and light meat turkey, and a mix of fresh green beans and baby Portabella mushrooms cooked in chicken broth, drained, and seasoned with pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. That is all I needed and I felt so good at the end of dinner. I didn't have any desire for the other foods, so that made it easy to stay on plan. I feel happy and content.

I am thankful for my five great kids, two awesome dogs, and one moody old cat. I am thankful for my health and that I am able to spend so much time with my children. I'm very grateful for my country, my home, and all my rich blessings. I also am thankful for this blog and the journey it has taken me on, and for all of you who bolster me up when I am struggling. Thank you. May your kindness come back to you, many times over.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Lynn,
I've said it before and I will say it again, you are a beautiful writer and I believe a beautiful person as well. Thank you for writing your blog. I enjoy reading it even though I am not struggeling with my weight - you write so eloquently and fluidly that your struggels with weight transcend beyond.
