Little Update

Tonight's dinner is a good one: pulled pork. The kids will pile theirs on potato rolls with barbecue sauce, and I will eat my meat plain on a plate with a side of coleslaw. It is that good, that I love it plain. I made it in the crockpot and it is making the house smell great. I just rubbed a pork roast with some Hawaiian red salt and liquid smoke and let it cook on low all day. I'll remove the fat and shred the meat before serving. Yum!

I ate simply today: black coffee, a Farmer's Market peach, Greek yogurt, half a banana, and a protein shake. No carby stuff today.

We have summer sunshine today and I am going to take advantage of it by heading out to the park for a walk with my kids and dog. I am so blessed to have the family I have; I wouldn't trade it for anything! I want to be a good example to them, and be around for a very long time. It is a wonderful thing to be always surrounded by love. Very thankful.

Off to the park! Enjoy your evening.

LOL no problem. Basically I think you are on the right track and your next weigh in will be a good one. Keep it up but stay away from the grains.

I was pondering how attached emotionally you are to foods... Like that sandwich with your dad etc. what if you started those very tender events with YOUR family using foods you want to have as anchors of good eating? A picnic comes to mind with grapes and other wholesome foods..... Planning the picnic, packing it and enjoying it. Empowering your kids to choose items for the picnic (from your supplies of good items). Wipe out the old unhealthy desires with new ones that will last all of you a lifetime. :)
