ER

Just a very short update as I am running on 2 hours of sleep...

I spent the entire night in the Emergency Room with my daughter. It was miserable and scary. She got a lot of help from a super nice doctor and a consulting pediatric specialist and I feel very very blessed that we got such an awesome doctor (who we'd never met before). I don't like to go on about my kids' health issues (for their privacy's sake) but if anyone would like to send get well prayers for my little Princess it would be appreciated. She is not out of the woods yet.

Oh, and the fridge repairman came this morning and it needs a new thermostat. They can't get the part til Tuesday, so we are winging it with food from the freezer and cupboards. I am viewing it as an adventure: what can I make from these ingredients? I promise to be ever so appreciative of my fridge when it is up and running again.

All I've had today is a cup of black coffee and a banana. Making a Medifast Hot Cocoa shortly.

You guys are AWESOME. I cannot say it enough. Thank you and I pray that all your kindness and good thoughts towards me come back to you tenfold.

May God Bless your baby girl. I will pray for her. Pay no mind to the rest of your normal worries (food/weight/exercise/etc) & focus on her getting 200% better - which I know from reading your blog for YEARS that you will do!!! Best wishes.

I am amazed by your strength. All night at ER with all the emotions involved and here you are being positive about that darned fridge. At least you know what is wrong with it now and it's fixable.

Praying for your little girl. So sorry she is so sick and I do hope things go well for her and you.

Blessings.

Lyn, you are so right about the difference between talking about these life obstacles in broad categories and naming all of the little obstacles and hurdles that they mean in a given day. I've never considered you a whiner - I actually think it's much healthier to talk about these things than to pretend they don't have an impact on your life. I hope your little girl feels better very soon and the fridge issue resolves quickly. You have more than enough to focus on. Thinking of you and your family.

I know there's nothing harder than having a sick little one. :( I'm certainly praying for her - and for you to get some rest and some peace!

Thank you again.

She is not doing very well, but if we can just get through tonight without an ER visit I will be so so thankful. Waiting on some test results and very worried. She was so very sick when she was a baby, in the hospital so much, but she has had such relatively good health for the past 3 years and I guess we just got used to her not having 'bigger' issues. I pray and pray that this is not the beginning of more hospital stuff. I just want her to be okay :(

She finally is sleeping and even ate some solid food before bed and I DO believe your positive thoughts and prayers are helping. Thank you.

Your whole family (including your pets) are in my thoughts, and prayers. You're such a good, kind, caring person. It's no wonder people flock to your side on here in times of need. Hang in there, Lyn. Take it one moment at a time. Breathe.

glad you were able to get in so quickly and get the right kind of help.

I know how scary it is to have a kid with a major health problem (am on way back to mayo with my youngest the first full week in june).

Refrigerator problems are the WORST inconvenience, glad you have humor about it.

I'm so sorry to hear that your daughter is not doing well. I myself have been in the hospital since Monday of this week, but its easier that its me and not one of my kids. Its so hard on the heart when a child is sick, I will be praying for your daughter and I wish you and your family the best.
