Wednesday Meal Logging

As I said earlier today, I am back to logging my foods. Here's today's stats:

7am: big mug of coffee, 2 Tbsp sugar free creamer
8am: Kay's Naturals Cinnamon Pretzels (I use these as a Medifast sub sometimes; similar stats)
10am: Medifast Hot Cocoa mixed w/1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder and instant coffee
noon: Medifast Chicken Noodle Soup
3pm: Medifast Caramel Nut Maintenance Bar, cup of coffee/1 Tbsp sugar free creamer
4pm: 6 oz Fage Total 0% Greek yogurt mixed with 2 tsp Barlean's Lemon Swirl fish oil
6pm: 1 cup of spaghetti squash, 1/2 cup low carb pasta sauce, 5 mini meatballs
8:30pm (planned): Medifast Pudding/Oatmeal mixture (I mix the two meals, split it in half, save one for tomorrow. It's kind of like rice pudding.)

Stats for the day:
1213 calories
113 g carbs
101 g protein
33% fat

Comments: The meatballs were not lean enough and that's why my fat is higher than usual, but they were all I had on hand and the kids had theirs with Barilla Plus Pasta. The maintenance bar is usually saved for maintenance. I'd ordered them a long time ago to try, and had a few left. I save them for super hungry or PMSy days.. They are higher in carbs than regular bars. I went over on my condiments today as well.

So as you can see, this is about how I have been eating on Medifast lately. In order to get my stats closer to where I want them (calories under 1000, carbs under 100... ideally closer to 80) I have to follow the guidelines more closely. I'll keep logging and paying attention until I get it where I want it and the weight comes off.

How long do you think/or have you been told you will need to do Medifast to lose down to your ultimate goal? I know there's not an exact number, but maybe am estimate? You want to ideally lose 40-50 more lbs, right? How long do people generally stick to this program, with that sort of goal? I would guess half a year or so at a average for about a 50 lb loss; but I'm not sure..curious what theyve told you. Thanks.

Well, Medifast states an average loss of 2-5 pounds per week, but those bigger lossses are usually by people who have a lot more weight to lose and/or men, who tend to lose faster. I was losing about 7 pounds a month when I have been strict with my program. There's usually a much bigger loss the first month. So yes, I'd say most people with 50 to lose would be able to do that within 6 months or so.

If I do stick with this plan I would hope to be finished with it by summer at the latest, not including the Transition program which I'd do over the summer.

I need to get at least back to 175, but I hope to get into the 150's.

Hi, Lyn! Looking at your caffeine intake for the day I wanted to mention something. I know we aren't all the same and maybe, I am more sensitive to caffeine than you. If I consumed regular coffee multiple times a day I would have a continual empty stomach feeling, also if I didn't drink as much on a different day I would instantly have a headache. I drink one decaf double espresso once every other day and I still feel a "buzz" from the little bit of caffeine in that, but I don't get a headache on the day I don't drink. That being said, I LOVE my espresso and I'm not trying to make you quit something I assume you enjoy as well, but you may want to consider a different approach with the coffee you drink because it may make you feel better.

yep, you are right about too much caffeine. I get a headache if I don't get it in the morning. I had cut back to one cup a day and then when my stress went up and energy down, I went to about 3 cups a day.

The instant coffee in the cocoa is decaf tho. I think I will get some decaf beans for my second cup of the day and then wean back down from there.
