Healthy Eating Blogs

Hey all! Just a brief note as I am still waiting for word on my laptop (and am typing on this ridiculous little netbook that I need a magnifying glass for) and am taking the kitty to the vet this morning (will update on her condition soon). But I am going to be putting together a healthy eating blogroll here shortly and would love your input! I am looking for blogs that are primarily posts with pictures and perhaps recipes of healthy meals. One of my favorites is Kath Eats Real Food (I have others, but their links are in my favorites on my laptop! I sure hope those are recoverable). I am looking for blogs that focus on posting healthy recipes and/or share pictures of their healthy daily intake. I am hoping the new blogroll will be an inspiration to those of us who are trying to come up with delicious, healthy meals and snacks. They can be low carb, whole foods, clean eating, whatever. Doesn't matter. The more pictures, the better!

So, what are YOUR favorite healthy eating blogs? Please share in the comments and when I get back from vacation I will check them all out and put together a blogroll. In the meantime, enjoy checking out the links people leave. Thanks so much for sharing!

My favorite food blog is

She has single serving cookies to make.. single serving cupcakes.. and homemade lara bars that are called fudge babies.. it's truely been a awesome blog for my sweet tooth in moderation...

Two of my favorites are:

http://tjstestkitchen.blogspot.com/

http://www.skinnytaste.com/

I love TJ because her food is real, tasty and easy. She follow the weight watchers points plus program (I don't) but it doesn't matter because she just makes delicious, healthy stuff.

Gina's skinny taste is great because she shows such variety. Like me she has a little kid at home, plus a husband who may not necessarily want to eat "light." Her food pleases a variety of palates and I've found her recipes work well for me.

Oh, my favorites are Kath eats, Daily Garnish, Simply Recipes and Orangette. Orangette has a TON of vegetable dishes, which is nice and hard to find some days.

I recently found Hope for Healing because my son has recently been found to have multiple food sensitivities. The recipes I have tried actually work and so many more look absolutely amazing.

I'm reading a wonderful book called The Feast Nearby and the author has a blog with recipes :http://thefeastnearby.com/
Here is a link to Jael McHenry's blog: http://simmerblog.typepad.com/ She is the author of The Kitchen Daughter which was a good read imho.

I also love Smitten Kitchen http://smittenkitchen.com/ This was the first food blog I found and the photos are exquisite.

Sometimes I feel like reading Jenna at http://www.eatliverun.com/ but only if I'm in a sunshiny state of mind.

I second the notion for Nutmeg Notebook.

Hi! Longtime reader, first time commenter. I couldn't resist chiming in with a recommendation for http://ohsheglows.com/

She's a vegan, but she puts together some incredible recipes (the desserts are out of this world). Her healthy lifestyle and entrepreneurship is truly inspiring.

Definitely check out this site.

Reading all these comments it looks like I have lots of new blogs to check out. I don't cook much but love reading about the great healthy stuff people come up with. My favorites are Angela at Oh She Glows and Lori at Finding Radiance. They both mix good food and quality of life posts.

HealthyTipping point.com -Kate has easy recipes and is a great motivator. She likes to ask questions to make you think. Her blog is mainly about food & fitness, but she talks about all kinds of woman issues. I used to read a lot of health blogs but she is the only one i've stuck with. Plus she started operation beautiful (there's a website and book too). Basically in the hopes to help us women to realize we amazing just the way we are. Not after we lose 20 pounds or whatever. You should check it out.

My New Roots- http://mynewroots.blogspot.com/

is an absolutely incredible blog. It leans towards vegetarian with a lot of raw recipes, but everything I've made has been delicious. Her raw brownie- http://mynewroots.blogspot.com/2011/04/raw-brownie.html

is excellent, made primarily out of healthy nuts, and has no added sugar. I made a sunflower seed/sun dried tomato/basil/garlic pate to take on our road trip and it was so good, healthy, and filling- http://mynewroots.blogspot.com/2010/05/break-with-tradition-tomato-bail.html

Agree with the previous posts, Gina's Skinny Taste is one of my favorites:

http://www.skinnytaste.com/

She lists Cal/Fat/Carb/Fiber/Sugars for each recipe (as well as the WW points and points+) and the pictures are beautiful. Everything recipe I've tried tastes really good and is easy to make, not fussy at all. Favorites include the Lasagna Rolls, Zucchini Casserole, Strawberries Romanoff, Baked Zucchini Sticks.

Also, Karina Allrich's blog, Gluten Free Goddess, is a great source of healthy and terrific recipes. She has an amazing selection of vegetarian/vegan recipes as well as recipes with meat.

Although I do not have celiac disease or gluten-intolerance, I find a lot of wonderful recipes here that are healthful and delicious (great photos, too.)

The crockpot recipe - Chicken Soup for Body and Soul - can get you through any winter!

Laaloosh, Roni's Weigh (GreenLiteBites), Dani Spies Clean & Delicious, Eat Live Run,

Note - Eat Live Run is not always so healthy and all of these sites seem to have plenty of baked goods and sweets so I find I have to watch myself.

I enjoy RawFoodFamily and Jinjee's diary. Both families raise their children in whole raw foods and the information on their blogs always inspires me to press on so my children will benefit from this second part of my life.

Four favorites: www.vegandad.blogspot.com, www.101cookbooks.com, www.thisiswhyyourethin.blogspot.com

www.myfeetinmotion.com isn't a "food blog" but it's a fun read for this old lady. It's written by a 20 year old college runner who is studying dietetics but believes that everything in moderation is fine.

Then, the following website is published by a registered dietitian that has a really nice planner.
