In the Groove

You know, I really feel like I am back in my groove now. The past couple of days were kinda rough; you may recall my nine pound gain last week. I was goofing off and eating stuff because I knew it would taste good, and I wasn't making my weight loss a priority. And you probably know that once you start eating like that and get into that mindset, it can be really hard to get out of. Every yummy food or food thought becomes a decision to make instead of something you already know you won't be eating. And when you have to decide whether or not to eat some yummy thing 20 times a day, you're bound to give in sometimes. It's a lot easier if you decide ahead of time that you are not eating crap.

Over the past few days I got my act together and got back in my groove. I got rid of 7 of those gained pounds so far and am still hacking away at the rest. I know what to do each day with the eating and the exercise. And it is easier every day. The food thoughts fade into the background again and I don't have to fight temptation minute by minute. I got my focus back and, so far, the prospect of a lighter, healthier body holds more appeal to me than a pan of noodles.

So glad you're moving through. I hope to be in the same place as you in a few days. Already having a clean day is helping!

Go Lyn! And who knows, that little slip may have even helped you hit a reset button on your metabolism and you may burn off another seven in the next week! Can always be hopeful right?

Good for you..but I have to say again that it really is not about food at all. It is truly a mindset and your focus has to go away from food and on to something else...it may be time to set your self on a goal that is not food related. Dianntha

Bravo! The groove is a great place to be in because you feel confident and unstoppable. Never, ever quitting (despite detours) seems to be the name of this game.

Fantastic, Lyn. I'm so happy to hear you're back in the groove. I appreciate you posting all your honest feelings - the ones we are all feeling, but may be afraid to post. You made my blogging day!

Glad you are back in your groove! The groove is a good place to be!

I am in mine this week, competed in my first ever race today! A one mile walk. And I came in last, but I still feel good about it.
