September 1, 2010: 186 Pounds

This morning I weighed in at 186 pounds. I have had to work hard at watching my food for the last week because of the crazy water bloat weight I gained from the fair and a few other indulgences, but with lots of protein, veggies, and water, I managed to get back down to my pre-fair low. So that is a loss of five pounds in August. That's less than I'd like (I have been averaging 7 pounds per month) but understandable and actually quite a decent loss for being on vacation for 10 days and going to the fair, too.

My next big goal is 185, which means I will no longer have an obese BMI (just overweight). And after that, my next goal will be 178. One hundred pounds gone. Wow :) And I have a special gift for myself that I'll be sharing later!

I added a new feature to my blog that many of you have asked for: My Recipe File! Check over on the left side of my blog where there *used* to be a list of links to some recipes; now there is one link to a page with ALL the recipes (unless I missed some), divided by carb level. I hope this helps some of you. I would say I totally LOVE almost every recipe in that list; most of them I made up myself.

I have a very busy week going on, with all my kids starting school including my little baby princess (sniff, sniff). Catch you later!

How exciting! You are so close to actually escaping obesity. Now is the time to kick it into high gear and make sure the next weigh-in is super successful! If you're anything like me, your "inner voice" will start taunting you and try to sabotage you just when you're almost there!

Will you change your blog name to "Escaped From Obesity!" then?

That's so wonderful, Lyn! Congrats!

185 was when I went from obese to overweight, too. We must be the same height! :-) You're almost there, and when you get there it will feel SO GOOD. Keep up the great work!

I think 5 pounds a month is amazing, but I'm on Weight Watchers, so there is usually a slower rate of loss than Medifast (which I'm fine with).

Go, Lyn, go!!! I think I was just as excited about escaping from the "obese" BMI level as I was about getting to "Onederland." :-)

Amazing, Lyn, absolutely amazing!

I can't wait to hear what your 100 lb gift to yourself will be...I think you've already given yourself a gift that's hard to top - you've got your LIFE back!

Good work off-loading the water weight! You're doing great, Lyn. Love the people clever enough to note you are truly "escaping obesity!" Hope to be right behind you.

Love that you have a recipe file now...I use your recipes a lot. Made the low carb meatloaf last night and just finished some for lunch! We love it.

How nice of you to put together a recipe file for us. Thanks, Lyn! Congrats on the five pound loss last month, and I'm looking forward to seeing you escape obesity. :)

Well done girl, 5lbs is great! They all count (*_*)

I am happy to have gotten out of the morbidly obese range into simply obese. Overweight would be great.

I am almost in tears reading your posts. In a good way. I have over 70 pounds to lose myself, and for my family. I can't tell you how wonderful it would be for me to be able to say my kids won't have a 'fat' mom when they start school. I have two years until my oldest goes to kindergarten. I just have such trouble spending the time on ME. I wish you the best of luck!
