LOL

Well I think I am finally in a place that I can laugh at the insanity in my life at the moment. A short story and update...

Although I found this FAR from funny last night, I have a little attitude change this morning. If you've been reading my blog, you know that my son broke his index finger at baseball practice last month, so he missed almost the whole school ball season. He just got cleared by the hand surgeon to play again... but got a letter he was suspended from playing until he got his grades up! No problem, he worked all week on the grades, and he is also playing on a bigger league for the next few months, and tryouts are this weekend. Yay!

Or not. Yesterday he came home from school with his thumb broken in two places! He went to the school nurse but she was at lunch (oh, gee, thanks!). So we spent the evening in the ER getting his thumb casted (up his arm). Guess there will be NO baseball this year!

I was utterly depressed by this last night, along with the other things going on in my life. But I stuck with my program. I made myself a nice dinner of fettuccine Alfredo (a package of tofu shiritake noodles, Bertolli Light Alfredo sauce, fresh mushrooms and asparagus, and chopped ham), rode my bike, and strength trained. And this morning I am feeling brighter and better. And lighter... I hit a new low of 231!

No matter what is going on in your life, just be thankful for the good things and for life itself, as unpredictable as it may be. You are not going to make things better by gaining weight. Put down the chips and Little Debbies, and take control of the one thing you CAN control... how you treat your body. You will feel better for it.

Congrats on the new low! AND for the excellent responses to stress! That's a big NSV in my book!

Hope your son's thumb heals quickly!

I have read every entry in your blog in the last 3 weeks.

WOW...your doing a great job and motivating me in the process!

Hopy your son's better soon. The cool cast to be signed helps. My son broke his wrist several years ago and girls think it very cool to have their name on his arm!

Sometimes all you can do is laugh - it's a lot better than crying! (And way better than eating!) Sorry he's out this year - maybe he can join a summer league? Or you can all do something together since he won't be at practices and games so much this spring. Enjoy! You are doing awesome. Congratulations on the new low!
