Holding On!

I am once again fighting the PMS monster, but I am still weighing in at 236 pounds. I want to eat the house but have been eating pretty healthily, loading up on veggies (and salting them when I get the salt cravings). Tonight, I swear if there had been ONE cookie in this house I would have sniffed it out like a bloodhound and assimilated it into the cookie-collection I have on my thighs, but thankfully such junk rarely passes the threshold. Instead, I satisfied myself with a nourishing bowl of made-from-scratch oatmeal, with a dash of vanilla, some brown sugar, and a few squirts of fake, low-cal buttery spray. It tasted amazingly similar to cookie dough, and when I sprinkled on 50 calories of semi-sweet chocolate chips, I had a nice, big, warm bowl of nearly fat free "cookie dough" flavored oatmeal. Boy, was it good. Cured those cravings right away.

When I got up this morning (early), it was unseasonably cold. It has been in the 60's but this morning it was in the 20's! I had to take my son to the doctor and when I came home it was still only 32 degrees. I was so cold and miserable (yeah I am a baby about the cold). I wanted to eat and eat. I drank warm tea. I decided to try and take a nice hot bath by bringing a bucket of large, strange plastic animals into the bathroom for my 2-year-old to play with on the floor next to the tub while I soaked. She found great joy in hurling these animals into my bath (not quite what I had in mind) and I ended up getting repeatedly pelted by hyenas and monkeys during a 10 minute soak with about 50 little "friends" floating around my various body parts. ("Haha," she laughed, "they're tickling you!")

After we cleaned THAT up, I decided to do my exercises with my toddler... something I have heard of people doing but never attempted before. I have to admit she was rather cute doing her leg lifts, until she jumped up and crawled over and stuck her head between my knees, saying, "snap me like an alligator!" Hard to do lying abductions with a toddler's head between your legs... Anyway, we got 'er done. The rest of the day was a wash, and I got nothing done but wishing for nicer weather and planning housework for the weekend. Hopefully, a successful and healthy weekend.

Have a good one!
