Moody

Boy, am I in a bad mood today. I was in a mood yesterday, too. I think it is from 2 things:
1) I am mid-cycle. I tend to get moody at mid cycle due to hormone changes, and I get downright pissy at the END of my cycle as well.
2) The weather has changed. Going from weeks of 90-degree weather to suddenly 70-degree weather means fall is here, and although I like fall somewhat, I am not happy about the end of summer. It means I have to switch to hot tea or coffee instead of iced tea (I hate iced drinks when it is cool outside... and I drink a LOT of iced green tea. I HATE hot green tea.) It is harder for me to drink enough water when it is cooler. It is harder to not bake yummies, harder to not eat myself into hibernation, harder to be active when I am stuck inside. I will miss the sunlight, and I will terribly miss the Farmer's Market. A big part of my success is from eating so many fresh fruits and veggies. What am I gonna eat when it is winter? No more watermelon, cantaloupe, and berries. It sucks!!

So I am just in a generally annoyed mood right now, but still eating right. Today is the 5th day I have seen 260 on the scale. I want it to say 259. Come on 259....

there are some great veggies you could buy now.. squash and zuchini... get some fresh tomatos.. and there is a great veggie mix u can make and freeze and eat during the winter... take your yellow squash , zucs and tomatos and even a onion if u want.. slice and chop them all up.. throw in a pot.. and cook and cook and cook. divide into freezer bags.. and freeze.. when you eat it.. mix a little parmesean cheese with it or.. any good italian cheese .. heat up.. and its yummy and great to get fresh veggies in during the cooler months...

Why can't you go outside? It isn't constantly snowy, ice, and miserably windy once fall rolls around. There are still nice days; you just have to wear a little more clothing.

Being outside in the fresh air and sunshine is a tremendous mood-booster. Rather than automatically assuming you can't go outside, why not plan on getting outside every day you possibly can, if only for a few minutes?

The groceries still offer fresh veggies in winter. Many are more expensive, but there are always standbys (apples, bananas, broccoli, lettuce, carrots, onions...) that seem to be available and reasonably priced year round. And frozen fruits and veggies are still good.

Chile is a great cold-weather food, that's very filling and has fiber and good veggies in it.

I also like to make soups and stews. You've been having fun with a wide variety of veggies. Now is a good time to experiment with beans and lentils!

I'm with honib - squash and zucchini are fantastic, and freezing vegetables now so that you can use them throughout the winter is a fantastic way to keep the veggies in plentiful supply throughout the winter months.

Other than that - iced green tea ain't real green tea, they would smack you over the head with something in China! :-P

I personally can't stand Summer - I hate it with a passion, and it's coming here in New Zealand and I get grumpier from day to day. Eh, to each their own, I suppose.

Don't switch. Drink it cold even in fall and winter. BE A MAVERICK. :)

BTW, I count the days until Halloween. That's about when it starts getting decent to go out and about here. Sometimes, the first cold front comes earlier, mid-October. But usually, by Halloween, we can stop melting on the Miami sidewalks.

I Love winter. Winter is so beautiful down here it's like being in paradise. Summers are pure, pure hell.

So, yeah, drink your tea cold and to heck with the weather.

Tomorrow, you're gonna see 259. We're sending weight loss good vibes!

BTW, I finally saw a number under 280, so trust me, I know exactly how you feel, waiting for the NEXT "decade" to come.

Awww... sorry to hear that you're having a sucky day today! There's alot of that going around today for some reason. lol

But hang in there! You have done an awesome job so far... and I KNOW that you will continue to do so... regardless of the season. 259 is just around the corner!!!

And I like honib1's advice about freezing veggies now. What a great idea!

What about those "steamfresh" veggies? They taste great and come in many different kinds. I LOVE them. And they even have individual servings now so you could have a small serving at each meal rather than the big bag.

I guess we are opposites... I love fall weather! I love the light breeze that makes taking long walks perfect! Hot & humid midwest weather in the winter makes me NEVER want to go outside!

That same number over and over again is sooo frustrating!!

Just think of all the lovely citrus fruits you get in winter...! And juicy pears, papaya's and guava's.
But yes, I also struggle in winter. I stock up on frozen berries, which I use in smoothies. Get yourself some nice fruit infusions (teas). They're great. And do spend time outside... it's very important for the endocrine system, which controls your weight amongst other things. Staying in will make you fat!

Regarding your comment: Yes, the mac & cheese was GREAT, very very creamy/cheesy. But leave the mustard out... even if you like mustard, who wants their mac & cheese to taste like it?!
